Cariari and nearby San Antonio de Belen serve up some of the best that Costa Rica has to offer in a variety of flavors. From fine dining to simple fare, restaurants are abundant in the area.

One of the best meals, service and dining can be had at La Focaccia di Martino, an Italian restaurant (5 locations) famous for their pizza, pastas, and salads. At Cariari Plaza, situated off the front road of Highway 1 across from Real Cariari Mall, La Focaccia is located on the second floor above the Fresh Market.  Open Tues – Sunday for lunch, brunch and dinner, you'll find a comfortable yet fine dining establishment with friendly, attentive staff at fair prices.

Cariari Country Club is also a favorite spot for locals and foreign residents. This private club possesses memberships that are as prized as they are limited. However, a visitor's pass can be purchased by residents or guests of nearby partner hotels: Melia Cariari and Hotel Herradura. The wooded and challenging 18-hole, 71-par golf course is reportedly one of the best in Central America. Additionally, the club offers tennis courts, an Olympic-sized pool, a complete gym, and event planning and catering.
