Location and Climate

Location and Climate in Nosara, Costa Rica.

Located just a few hours from the Liberia International Airport, and 70 kilometers from Tamarindo, Nosara is close to city necessities but remains largely (and happily) undeveloped.  Nosara is located on the Northern Nicoya Peninsula and borders the Ostional Wildlife Refuge, which is the largest Olive Ridley turtles nesting site in the world.  The Ostional Wildlife Refuge also has the cleanest water table in all of Costa Rica, and has been declared one of the world’s Blue Zones.

Nosara’s Climate

Nosara enjoys warm weather year round, between 80 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

The dry season lasts from November to April and features consistent sunshine, sunsets, and starry nights. The constant winds operate to offset the temperature, making it seem cooler than the thermometer suggests.  Those same winds also offer consistent surf conditions all day long.

The rainy season last from May until November and features plenty of sunny days with afternoon rain showers. During this time, the jungle is green, lush, and teeming with wildlife. October is typically the rainiest month and many businesses close during this time.
