For young children, there are a few school options, in addition to the public school. The Escuela Justo Antonio Facio has great teachers but limited resources. The Colegio Experimental Bilingue, which is favored by most expat families, was founded in 2005 and is known for combining imagination and innovation to achieve the best teaching methods for a bilingual learning environment.
High school aged children all attend the Siquirres public high school. This is one of only two public high schools in the country that has adopted the International Baccalaureate program.
