Average daily temperatures in Hojancha range in the high seventies year round. The town of Hojancha, due to its higher elevation, has a cooler climate than the coastal towns and enjoys a nice ocean breeze. Like the rest of the Nicoya Peninsula, there is a dry season from late November until early April with sunny days and little rain. It’s a great time to visit the nearby beach, Playa Carillo and watch the sunset or head further to Playa Guiones for surfing. The rainy season begins in late April, with sunny days and late rainshowers, and peaks in September, which can be quiet rainy. Businesses in the nearby beach towns often close during this time. In the rainy season the jungle is much greener and more lush than in the dry season, the air also has more humidity.
