The Remote Coast Rica Beach Towns of Playa Bejuco, Playa San Miguel, and Playa Coyote

 Scattered between the popular beach towns of Playa Samara and Mal Pais on the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica, these three far less discovered beaches are some of the most beautiful and least visited in the entire country. Playa Bejuco is the furthest north (near Samara) and has tidal pools for swimming and 16 foot swells for surfing. Further south, Playa San Miguel has a granite headland and is backed by coconut palms with one tiny bar at the far end of the beach. Playa Coyote, the furthest south, has fine silver grey sand and serves as a nesting ground for the Olive Ridley turtles.

Each of these beaches is stunning and teeming with wildlife, surrounded by desolate nature and a few savvy foreign settlers rather than established towns or villages. Those considering relocating or visiting will likely need four-wheel drive cars and enjoy gorgeous remote locales. For those needing more socializing and entertainment, Playa Samara is not too far for an international restaurant scene, yoga classes, grocery stores, and a more lively atmosphere.
