Playa Potrero is one of the Gold Coast's most relaxed beach towns: a calm, swimmable bay just north of Playa Flamingo that keeps its small-town, local feel while offering an easy base for the whole coast. Buyers who want Flamingo's amenities without the premium often find their value here, across homes and condos at a range of prices.

It sits on Costa Rica's northwest Pacific coast in Guanacaste, between Flamingo and Las Catalinas, with easy access to several beaches. It's about 45 to 50 minutes from Liberia's Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR), the closest of the Gold Coast beach towns to the main international gateway, with direct flights from North America.

The climate is classic Guanacaste: among the sunniest and driest in Costa Rica, with around 300 days of sunshine a year. The dry season runs from roughly mid-November through April and the green season from May through October, warm year-round, cooled by Pacific breezes, and noticeably less humid than Costa Rica's central and southern coasts.
