Parents who are thinking of moving to Costa Rica with school age children will certainly want to learn more about the private and public schools in any area they are considering. Costa Rica proudly boasts a literacy rate of more than 95%, the highest in all of Central America. School is mandatory and free for all children, with the government constantly working to improve the national public school system.

Specifically in the Punta Islita area, the Islita Creative Center and the Jon & Janie Mangus Children's Center offer additional educational opportunities to students. These organizations promote environmental awareness and social responsibility, with a healthy emphasis on creative development and growth.
