Schools and Medical Services in Samara, Costa Rica.

The town of Samara and its surrounding areas offer important services for those who choose to retire in Costa Rica. The town itself boasts a weekly organic market near the beachfront, with homemade crafts, local foods and produce. Major grocery stores, banks and small shops can be found along the main strip. A pharmacy is located right in the center of town for minor illnesses, concerns and medication pickup. Two doctors make themselves available to locals and expats of the area for checkups, referrals and more than the common cold. The closest major public hospital, Hospital La Anexion, is located in Nicoya, about 19 miles from Samara. Many retirees and expats head to the well-known Clinica Biblica hospital or the new CIMA hospital in San Jose for their major healthcare needs.
