Climate and Location
Bagaces borders on the Liberia and Cañas cantons, with the valley of the Tempisque River found toward the south. The drive from Lake Arenal to Bagaces is only about 20 miles.
Bagaces is one of the warmest towns in the country. It has a dry climate, meaning it receives less humidity and rainfall than other parts of Costa Rica. While heavy rains may be experienced in other parts of Costa Rica throughout the green season, in Bagaces the only significant rainfall is during the months of September and October. The average temperatures range from the 70s to highs in the low 90s, with the highest temperatures during March and April. Still, Bagaces offers plenty of shaded areas and rivers to help you cool off.
