Cobano, Costa Rica

It may lack white sand beaches, big waves, waterfalls, and stunning cloud forest, but there is something charming about the small town of Cóbano. Hardly a tourist attraction, this town caters to travelers making their way to one of the nearby beaches and to expats running errands. However, Cóbano offers a slice of real Costa Rican life difficult to find in the more tourist towns.
