Getting to Junquillal, Costa Rica.
Playa Junquillal sites on the western coast of Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula. In many ways, it represents the end of the line in terms of maintained roads, with only the most dedicated 4WD travelers venturing further down this portion of the coast. Though one feels as if they must be hours away from any type of tourist destination, the truth of the matter is that the peninsula's largest beach town, Tamarindo, is just 20 minutes to the north. Tamarindo has an airport that makes numerous daily flights to San Jose and other national destinations. Liberia's Daniel Oduber International Airport is less than 2 hours away.
