The first phase of the new, state-of-the-art Marina Flamingo is open as of December 2022. It has 92 slips, out of a total of 184 planned, as well as a high-speed fueling dock, a desalination plant, a wastewater treatment plant and a helipad. A 4-story, multi-colored building features commercial space on the two bottom floors and 40 luxury villas on the top two floors.

Villas on the top floors with 1 to 3 bedrooms are available for long-term or short-term lease. Fully furnished and brand-new, they all have air conditioning, TV, washer-dryers. Views are of the marina or of downtown Flamingo.
Construction is ongoing on a 3-story parking garage that will have a swimming pool, bar, barbecue area and gym on the roof.
One-bedroom suites will cost over $2,000 a month, depending on the length of the contract; two-bedrooms will cost a bit more than $4,000, and the two three-bedrooms are over $7,000. All utilities are included except electricity.
In the next phase of construction, another mixed-use building will be built on the south side of the marina along the coastal road. In the third phase, developers haven’t yet announced what will be built on the 7-acre eastern side, though early plans called for a big hotel here and more commercial and residential space.

Marina Flamingo Location:

Marina Flamingo is located on the east side of downtown Flamingo, in a sheltered bay on Playa Potrero. One of its attractions is that you can walk straight from the marina into the town of Flamingo, which has multiple restaurants, shops, hotels and vacation rentals. The marina is an hour’s drive from the international airport in Liberia.

Marina Flamingo fills a crucial gap between the existing Marina Papagayo to the north and Los Sueños to the south. Flamingo has long been a popular launch point for fishing, scuba diving and sunset cruises. The marina eliminates the need for clients to wade into the surf and take a motorboat to a larger boat, and it greatly expands access for the elderly or disabled. The marina will also attract anglers from around the world for international fishing tournaments. Playa Flamingo and Play Potrero are conveniently located less than a 1-hour drive (approximately 26 miles) from the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIB).
