Playas del Coco Schools and Education

Moving to Playas del Coco or to the Guanacaste region with children is amazing experience and a privilege. Playas del Coco and the Guanacaste region in general has some of the best schools in all of Costa Rica. There are several private schools in Playas del Coco.  The Green Life Academy offers fully U.S.-accredited grade completion, has an advanced/gifted curriculum, includes Costa Rica history, social studies, and Spanish in its courses, and participates in various hiking and outdoor excursions.  The Green Life Academy welcomes children from kindergarten through high school. 

The Lakeside International School is also near Playas del Coco.  Lakeside International School welcomes children from kindergarten through high school and ensures its classes are no larger than 15 students.  The school has been operating for just over five years and is quickly becoming popular within the community.

Finally, the Dolphin’s Academy School is a bilingual school located in the heart of Playas del Coco and teaches it students using the Montessori method.  The Dolphins Academy School welcomes preschoolers, elementary students, and high school students. 

If you are making your relocation decision based on schools alone, then you should also consider these great schools located in the area of Playa Flamingo and Playa Potrero.  Young families are attracted to Flamingo for its close location to some of the highest-quality schools in the nation. These schools include the former, Country Day School, which is now the Costa Rica International Academy (CRIA), a U.S. accredited private college preparatory school, and The La Paz Community School, an international bilingual private school. As these young families have found, the schools here offer a quality education.
