The golden sand stretches for miles and is backed by almond trees, sea grapes, and coconut palms. Each of the South Caribbean towns has a distinct personality, and Punta Uva tends to be the most laid back, family-oriented neighborhood. Real estate is pricier in this area because it’s the most coveted, and most expats live a short drive off the main road into the jungle for ocean views. Vacation rentals are tucked into the jungle on the beach side of the main road and are simple, rustic cabins along with a few hotels and laid back resorts.
