Climate and Location
Samara is located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and is a part of the Nicoya Peninsula. This region is one of the warmest in the country. Average temperatures in December range from highs of 88 degrees Fahrenheit to lows of 66. However, expect cooler weather and heavy rains during the green or rainy season. The rainy season runs from May to November, with the largest amount of rainfall generally occurring during the month of October. Most locals embrace the rain as a welcome break from the heat and a source of renewal for their crops. Residents enjoy the striking ocean views, lush green hills and farm life from the comfort of their homes as the rain drizzles down.
