Grecia, Costa Rica
Grecia, located in the northern part of the Alajuela province, is considered by many to be one of the cleanest towns in the country. And, according to various publications, Grecia is one of the safest places to live in the world. But the biggest draw for tourists and residents alike: Grecia’s flawless, year-round climate.
Simply put, the weather in Grecia is perfect. With average temperatures ranging between 65 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit year round, one will always enjoy a fresh, spring-like breeze, along with some of the best afternoons you can find anywhere in the world.
The town is fairly small, but offers a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, markets, and medical services. Plus, there is an abundance of outdoor activities in the area that, along with the perfect weather, serve to endlessly entertain Grecia’s residents and tourists.
Real Estate in Grecia
In comparison to other parts of the country, Grecia is considered a more affordable place to buy property, especially when compared to buying property in the capital of San Jose or near the coasts. Nevertheless, interest in Grecia, along with property values, have increased because Grecia is gaining popularity worldwide as a retirement paradise. In addition, many people are more interested in buying large amounts of land or farms, known as “quintas,” than in buying houses downtown Grecia. Finally, the business growth of the sugar cane and pineapple industry has been so aggressive recently that more entrepreneurs have looked at Grecia as a place for investment.
For many, the experience of living in Costa Rica is a chance to escape the rat-race, enjoy mother nature, and live in a more stress-free environment. Making Grecia home almost guarantees it.
